Week 1

Let's say that you can invite one person, living or dead, to dine with you.
Who would you choose?
Why?
What would you talk about?

Please share with us in the comments below.

Extra input
Craig Morgan's song links nicely with our topic.
Listen for inspiration, relax or vocabulary input :)

If you could have just tomorrow to sit down and talk to anyone from the past
Someone from your memory anyone from history that you could just bring back
Who would it be
Who would it be

I don't have any specific person in mind but I would like to invite a Buddhist monk. I think it would be good to talk to him about their life and beliefs. I would ask him why there are so many fat monks- I find it very strange.

I don't know much about Buddhism. But I've seen a documentary about Buddhist monks from Thailand and they're all very obese. For me it was a shock because I thought they're all very slim.
And you're right- Buddha's monuments are always huge. Maybe that's the reason.
Thanks for your comment :)

Hi,
I would like to have a dinner with me from the past- when I was child and I was 5 years old.
It would be so much interesting experience becouse it was time, when my life completly changed- my mother died. I didn’t remember what I was felling and what I was thinking about my life.
I’m also curios how I saw my future and how was my plans. Maybe I could to say a young me from the past ,, You never give up! I’m sure you can do everything what you want becouse I know You can do it well and you will be happy. So trust me and start doing 😊”. And it would be true :-)

I'd like to have dinner with William Shakespeare. Would he understand my English? Would I understand him? Maybe he will teach me some great words. I think it could be nice experience and a good point in my CV.

"let me be that I am, and seek not to alter me"
A fantastic idea! Count me in!

When I read this I thought about some viral movie, where parents and their children were asked this same question. Parents had great dreams about famous people: Elvis Presley, Dalai Lama, Marylin Monroe... Then they asked children and every, single child told that they wanted to meet their family. Touching. I think I'd like to have a dinner with my best friend from primary school. She was my bridesmaid and now she lives far away. We always meet in hurry, so it would be wonderful to have a dinner and spent time together.

Pieter Bruegel - that would be my choice!
He was a Dutch painter living and creating in the XVI century. I saw his painting "The Tower of Babel" while I was sightseeing the city of Rotterdam few years ago. I was so enchanted by this painting that I couldn't stop staring at it for a longer while. The painting is quite dark and mysterious, but definitely catches the eye.
So during this dinner I would ask Pieter Bruegel what was his inspirations and how he managed to put so many details there.

Who would it be? First person who came to my mind was God. Obviously, He could answer all the potential questions that I would have. But, if my choice were to concentrate on people as such I would opt for somebody like Leonardo da Vinci. His areas of interest were so vast that he would definitely could enchant me with various stories of his inventions. It would be a thrill to listen.

Great choice with da Vinci, even better with God.

I would like to have a dinner with my best friend from secondary school. She has a nice restaurant in Chorzów now but she has never invited me for a dinner. So maybe it is good idea to invite her for a good dinner and look back on the time when we were younger and really spent a lot of time together.
