For many people this question would seem to be highly inappropriate. And, don't you worry, my intention is not to ask you this question. What I would like you to do this week is to watch a short clip about taxes in Finland. What do you think about such an idea? Would you like the same regulation to be introduced in your country? Let me know in the comments below.

Wow, this is so unexpected idea! I think this is connected with culture. Here, in Poland, let's face it, money is taboo. When you start talking about money, you can see "say no more" faces. People don't like to talk about it. At work we don't talk about salaries. It's popular to connected money with something bad, something dirty. When you are rich, you had to steal something. This is general knowledge. It seems to me that we should avoid such judgments. Money isn't anything wrong. That's that.

Exaclty! I do not understand why people in Poland think about rich people, such as somabady, who stole money or something like that. They almost never think that this people learned a lot and spent a lot of time working hard. Have you noticed that in Poland people like to talk about their salary when they earn a little? They really like to talk about it. I ask them why? This is not taboo?

It's true that people don't like talk about money, even in their families. People usually quarrel about it with their closest friends or family members. I am not sure what I think about this idea. On one hand, it's interesting idea but on the other it can cause a lot of misunderstandings between people.

„National Jealousy Day” in Poland? It might be very interesing experience. I think that the first time a lot of people would be check how much earns his/her neighbour / friend / aunt or uncle who has just bought a new car. But year by year, less and less people would check another people salaries

Thank you all for your comments. I share most of your feelings too. Money has always been a sensitive topic.

My everyday work is closely connected to salaries so for me the topic is quite common. However, I know that in Poland it is still a mysterious area. You will never know if it is appropriate to ask your colleagues how much they earn or to ask your recruiter about salary ranges before you even decide to start the recruitment process for the certain position. Definitely it’s a taboo topic! Comments are closed.
