How are conversations different from regular classes?
Your regular classes are conversational, which means that we talk a lot. However, you must have noticed that we usually talk about something that we read or in connection with the new words that we’re learning in the lesson.
In conversations, there are no new words- the aim is for you to try to communicate using the skills and resources you already possess.
And I am no longer so much of a teacher, as your conversation partner. I will not be correcting you as you speak, nor will I give you any new words to improve your speaking. You rely on yourself entirely.
Of course, at the end of each session there is a short - usually a 5 min feedback- during which I point out a few issues that resulted from our conversation- it might be a frequent grammar mistake, a wrong word, or a pronunciation problem.
After the session there is no follow-through, nor homework.
Please prepare your list of topics to be covered during your conversations!

Note from your teacher
Some students think that conversations are mini-lessons. They are not!
As I said, conversations are your time to talk. It's you, or you together with your teacher (less likely an option) who chooses the list of topics.
It's good to focus on what you would like to say during your conversations and then reflect on the things that you have struggled with.
Your teacher can give you only a few pieces of advice as feedback. The reason for that is that there's simply no time to do that plus the focus on conversations is mainly to promote positive language behaviour.
If you feel that conversations might not be fulfilling your needs entirely, then it's better to book the mix regular classes and conversations.
Also, if you are preparing for a job interview, and you are not my regular student, then please book the Job interview short course.
