I believe there is no better tool to measure long-term importance of albums than „weeks on chart”. For U.S.
fans the base is Billboard 200 whereas for British fans – British charts. And what about an European non
-British fan? Like Polish one, for example? British charts are more important, closer for us, but neglecting
Billboard would be nonsense, absolutely.
So, that's my invention – British charts corrected with Billboard 200. You will find below Top 50 Albums Of
All Time. At least 250 weeks on chart means something like 5 years on chart! So, there is no just liuck there...
A few real monsters – The Dark Side Of The Moon, Marley's Legend, Abba's Gold, Queen's Greatest Hits, Rumours, Bat Out Of Hell...
The Sound Of Music is a soundtrack from 1965... So, it had to compete against The Beatles and Stones' LP's.
Some artists with 2 or more albums in top 50 are Fleetwood Mac, Simon & Garfunkel, The Beatles, Michael
Jackson, Guns N'Roses, Phil Collins, Dire Straits, REM...
A few musicals from pre-Beatles era – South Pacific, My Fair Lady, The King And I, Oklahoma, West Side Story...
Another artists with top albums of 70s – Jeff Wayne, Mike Oldfield, Carole King...
And 80s – Tracy Chapman, Lionel Richie, U2, The Phantom And The Opera, Journey...
And 90s – Oasis, Van Morrison, Alanis Morisette, Enigma...
And already from XXI century – Amy Winehouse, The Killers, Ed Sheeran, Eminem, Adele...

Any comment? I had some doubts in some items, especially, regarding weeks on Billboard 200.

Enrolment is still open via waiting list.

Students who have already confirmed their place will have priority when I arrange the new timetable.

You can still join, but availability and your preferred lesson time can no longer be guaranteed.

PS. What does this mean in practice?

I’ve already reached a solid number of confirmed programmes for the new academic year, so I’ll now build the timetable around those enrolments first. Any remaining time slots will then be offered to late enrolments.
